Casco, ME (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A dump truck crashed into 5 vehicles on Route 121 after it lost control when it drove around a bend and injured the truck driver, announced WMTW.

Police reported that the dump truck had lost control and slammed into four parked cars, crashed into an SUV and then came to a halt after damaging a utility pole disrupting the area electrical service. The owners of damaged vehicles were returning from a funeral to find their cars damaged in the lot by the dump truck.

Officials identified the driver of the dump truck as George Morin. Police officials found him unable to get out of his vehicle with live electrical wires on top of the truck. Casco fire rescue officials treated Morin’s injuries at the scene of the accident. The police identified the dump truck as owned by Sumner Session Excavation of Norway. Police estimated the cost of damages to be thousands of dollars.

Route 121 was closed for cleanup of the accident and so that workers could restore electricity to the buildings that had lost it when the truck hit the utility pole. Police did not file charges immediately but reconstructed the accident to determine the cause. Officials believe that speed was a contributing factor.
