New Jersey taxi cab injures pedestrian

Summit, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A local taxi cab service vehicle hit a pedestrian at a New Jersey intersection in Union County, announced the Star-Ledger.

The taxi cab that struck the female pedestrian was a part of a local transit service provider. Police reported the incident to have taken place at the crossroads of Devon Road and Mountain Avenue early Tuesday morning. It was not clear how the pedestrian was struck by the taxi. Charges have not been filed.

Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the scene with the New Jersey police. Police identified the victim of the accident, but would not publicly announce the woman’s identity. An ambulance transported the injured woman to Morristown Memorial Hospital where she was put in the trauma unit to be treated by doctors and nurses, according to New Jersey officials.

The driver of the taxi’s identity has not been disclosed. The taxi driver agreed to cooperate with the detective’s investigation of the accident. Police reported that the injured pedestrian was still being treated in the hospital as of this afternoon. The extent of her injuries and her condition remained unavailable. New Jersey police detectives continue to probe the case to determine the cause of the accident.
