Elderly woman struck by car in Toms River

Legal news for New Jersey Personal Injury lawyers– An elderly woman injured when hit by a car in Toms River NJ was taken to the hospital by emergency helicopter.

Toms River, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – An elderly woman was struck by a moving vehicle in Toms River Tuesday morning, announced the Press of Atlantic City.

New Jersey state police reported that the woman was 65-years- and suffered from head trauma due to the impact of the crash. Police did not disclose the woman’s name or place of residency so that they could notify her family and relatives first. The woman appeared to have a serious head wound, according to officials.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene to treat and transport the injured woman. An emergency helicopter arrived to fly to the injured victim to a trauma unit. The accident took place before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning at the intersection of Main Street and Highland Parkway.

The trauma helicopter transported the injured woman to Jersey Shore University Medical Center located in Neptune, to be treated for her injuries by doctors and nurses. Her condition has not yet been released.

Police reported that the operator of the 1988 Dodge Aries was identified as 61-year-old Riley Henry, resident of Toms River. Police did not report that any charges will be pressed.
