New York Personal Injury Alert: 2 pedestrians killed by car

Legal news for New York Personal Injury lawyers– Police report that 2 pedestrians were crashed into by a car in Suffolk County, NY fatally injuring them.

Bay Shore, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Two pedestrians were fatally injured when they were struck by a car Sunday night, announced Newsday.

Suffolk County police officials reported to the scene on Fifth Avenue where a man and women were killed by the moving vehicle. Police have not announced the names of the victims as of yet. Police are investigating if the pedestrians were walking across the street or if they were loitering around the Fifth Industrial Court.

Police identified the driver of the vehicle as 44-year-old Diane Restrepo, resident of Central Islip. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport the wounded via ambulance. Restrepo was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital located in West Islip, to be treated for her injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. Medical personnel later discharged her from the hospital.

The accident took place around 7 p.m. Sunday evening according to police reports. The 2004 Acura was heading south on Fifth Avenue when it struck the two pedestrians in the street. Police have since possessed the vehicle to inspect it. Suffolk County police are continuing to investigate the fatal accident. Police reported that the driver has had no charges brought against her as of yet.
