The 14-year-old boy was a passenger in one of the vehicles that had collided going southbound on South East Avenue in Vineland. New Jersey police reported that a vehicle driven by Martin Osorio, 21-year-old resident of Vineland, crashed into another vehicle, driven by Erika Rivera, 20-year-old resident of Vineland.

The accident took place between Grape Street and Montrose Street late Saturday afternoon according to police reports.
Martin Osorio had lost control of his vehicle after crashing into Erika Rivera’s vehicle and slammed into a tree. The impact of the crash killed the 14-year-old boy only identified as C.C.

Police deputies reported that Osorio attempted to run away from the scene of the accident but was caught by police officials on foot. Police charged the 21-year-old with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. New Jersey Traffic Safety Unit continued to investigate the case to determine the cause of the accident on Saturday afternoon. It was not reported if the intersection was shut down temporarily for further investigation.
