MA worker was fatally injured by a forklift in a construction accident working at a Lidell Brothers Inc. factory.

Halifax, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A man from Plymouth County suffered from fatal injuries when he was crushed by a Lidell Brothers Inc. forklift Thursday evening, announced the Patriot-Ledger.

Police reported that the forklift toppled over while he was working at the factory in Halifax and pinned him beneath the cab of the machine. The man, only identified as a 29-year-old factory worker at Lidell Brothers Inc., was reported to have been operating the forklift with a load at the time of the accident.

The trapped worker was rescued by other workers who used a loading machine to remove the larger forklift off the injured man to free him. Fire rescue officials were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. in the evening.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to find the man severely wounded bleeding from his head, and exhibited signs of severe abdomen and chest trauma. The injured worker was lifted onto a stretcher and taken in the ambulance where CPR was administered to him. Police reported that the man was taken to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital where doctors declared the man to be dead.

Officials made sure that a notice about the incident was given to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) www.osha.gov/ and that the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office was contacted about the death. The investigation continues.
