Long Island, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) crashed into a house early Saturday evening and landed on the second floor after running a stop sign and being launched off of a berm while speeding, announced New York Daily News.
The driver of the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was identified as 20-year-old Adam Clark. Clark, who was intoxicated at the time of the accident, took out the entire middle of the Victorian-style home after flying 65-feet through the air and damaging the entire front of the house.
The homeowner, identified as 58-year-old John Sarli, was at the far end of the house when the SUV catapulted through the front entrance of the house and landed on the stairs up to the second floor. The shocked homeowner, who was asleep at the time, came out to find a jeep vertical, headlights facing upwards, in the foyer of his home.
Clark and his passenger, identified as 20-year-old Richard Mailand walked away from the crash with only minor injuries. Suffolk County police arrested Clark on charges of reckless endangerment and drunken driving charges. Clark’s passenger walked away with no charges. The Homeowner Sarli had just recently placed the Long Island Victorian mansion on the market that Friday. Sarli will be taking it off the market.
