A 5-vehicle accident occurred when a car made a U-turn and the accident injured a pedestrian in Long Island, NY.

Suffolk County, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Suffolk County police officials reported that in Huntington Station Township a 5-vehicle pileup severely injured a pedestrian woman when she was hit and slammed into a local building storefront, announced Newsday.

One vehicle made a U-turn on a street in Long Island which had a domino effect that ended with a five vehicle pileup and one pedestrian sustained serious injury.

The vehicle that made a U-turn on Route 110 drove in front of a pickup truck, causing the truck to swerve into the parking lot and crash into three parked vehicles on Monday afternoon. Suffolk County officials have not been able to catch the driver of the first vehicle, who caused the massive accident.

Police reported that one of the cars that were parked was thrown into another parked vehicle nearby that hit the 25-year-old victim who was in the process of getting into her vehicle. The force of the crash pushed her vehicle into the of the Bay Shore Furs building, pinning the woman against the store front.

Suffolk County officials identified the woman as 25-year-old LaChele Prophet. Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to transport the young woman to the hospital where she suffered serious injuries to her limbs. Police continue to investigate the accident.
