NY Motor Vehicle Accident News: Suffolk Police report 2 car crash kills 1

Long Island, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – In Suffolk County, in a hamlet of Brookhaven, a person suffered fatal injuries when he ran a red light crashing into another vehicle on Route 25 in Centereach, announced Newsday.

Police reported the 2-car crash occurred on Monday night before 9:30 p.m. on Middle County Road. Eyewitnesses reported that a Lincoln blew through a red light at the intersection and crashed into a 2009 Chevy Suburban on Holbrook Road. Suffolk County police officials identified the driver of the Lincoln as 30-year-old David Martin, resident of Bay Shore.

Authorities reported the 30-year-old driver was ejected through the windshield before his Lincoln flipped and landed on its roof. Police reported that Martin was not buckled into the driver’s seat at the time of the fatal accident. Suffolk County police declared him to be dead at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the Suburban was identified as Alan Margolis, resident of Holbrook. He sustained minor injuries in the collision, and was transported via emergency medical services (EMS) to the Stony Brook University Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses. Authorities reported that the Suburban was heading northbound on Holbrook Road when the SUV was struck by the Lincoln traveling in the westbound lanes.
