Product Liability Urgent Notice: Office Max Task Chairs injures 15

New York Product Liability Lawyer Notice – CPSC and Office Max recall the company’s chairs that proved hazardous to consumers.

D.C. , Washington D.C. (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov/ in collaboration with Office Max Inc, have recalled the Office Max Task Chairs as a result of a safety hazard.

The CPSC has reported Office Max Task Chairs to be an injury/falling hazard after they received 35 reports stating that the back and the base of the chairs are liable to break while being used. 15 consumers that purchases one of these products have filed a report that they were injured while using the chair.

The injuries reported that the 15 consumers who were injured by this product suffered muscle strains, lacerations, bruising, and mild brain injuries. Consumers are warned to quit using this specific product, unless otherwise informed. There were about 216,000 are recalled. The Office Max Chairs were manufactured in China. The chairs were sold at stores across the nation, on the Office Max website, in catalogs and sold through direct sales to companies.

The model numbers of the chairs are OM182 and OM96614, which is located beneath the chair’s seat on the white UPC label. The chairs are manufactured in China and imported through Office Max Inc. home base in Naperville, Illinois. The chairs have been selling since September 2003 through July 2008. The colors of the chairs are dark gray or black with black plastic arms and a rolling plastic and metal base. The products were priced between 40 and 65 dollars a chair.

All consumers who have purchased and used these Office Max products are advised to return their chair to any Office Max location to redeem a refund, or 55 dollar gift card without the presentation of a receipt.
