Young New York girl killed by car while skateboarding

New York Personal Injury Lawyers report –  A 9-year old girl was hit by a car while skateboarding and was killed.

Syracuse, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A little girl from Syracuse, New York was fatally injured while she was riding her skateboard down a hill and traveled into an intersection where a vehicle hit and killed her, announced Newsday.

Authorities stated that the 9-year-old girl happened to be riding the skateboard while lying on her abdomen going down the hill. The tragic crash occurred Monday evening on the north side of the city of Syracuse. Officials announced that the 9-year-old girl was Ariana Rivera of Syracuse.

Police and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. Authorities reported that the little girl sustained serious trauma to her skull from the car crashing into her. Emergency medical transportation carried Ariana to St. Joseph’s Hospital to be treated by nurses and doctors. Ariana Rivera was declared dead shortly after arriving to the hospital.

Police investigators reported that Ariana had skated into the road where there was not a suggested yield or stop sign present. Ariana rolled into the intersection when traffic was present and she was hit and killed. Detectives are furthering the investigation to determine the course of action and the factors that might have contributed to the fatal accident.
