New York Truck Accident Lawyers report that a pickup truck slammed a a boy 25 feet where emergency medical officials found and took him to the hospital where he soon died.
Chester, NH (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A 7-year-old boy was hit and killed by a pickup truck when he was walking with his brother and friend to a local convenience store Saturday afternoon, announced the Union-Leader.
Officials did not disclose the child’s name, but locals knew him as JJ Venner. The child was struck close by the pickup truck close to where he lived at 86 Rod and Gun Club Road. JJ was walking westbound against traffic in the side lane accompanied by his 10-year-old brother and 11-year-old friend when an eastbound pickup truck slammed the boy 25 feet from the road.
Route 102, a two-lane freeway, was closed for 4 hours after the tragic crash killed the young boy. Melissa Juchniewicz lived across the street where the scene of the accident occurred and called the police immediately. After the police were on their way, she joined the other locals who had pulled off the road to aid the boy’s life-threatening injuries. The impact of the pickup truck catapulted the small child 25 feet away and sent his shoe and backpack beyond the boy’s badly wounded body.
Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived to resuscitate the child on the scene. Soon after, he was quickly transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry, in Rockingham County. JJ was declared dead shortly after arriving to the hospital.
Sources stated that the boy’s parents owned a Country Christian Daycare & Preschool in operated out of their house to support the community. Neighbors appeared to come to lend their support to the family for their loss. The driver of the truck was identified as 49-year-old Brian Medico, who the police officials have not formally accused of any charges as of yet.
Investigators are looking into the situation further to determine all of the facts pertaining to this devastating accident. Many children and adults walk along side Route 102 on a daily basis. Residents claim that most of the drivers on the highway drive above the speed limit. The Investigation continues.
