New York Motor Vehicle Accident Lawyers issue injury report – State Police Officer killed in fatal crash that closed the intersection in Clinton County.

Peru, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – a New York State Police officer was fatally injured while riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car, announced WPTZ News.

The Police Bureau of Investigation determined that it was 29-year-old Travis Capen from Morrisville who was fatally injured in the accident, which took place in Peru at the intersection of Lapham Mills Road and Dashnaw Road late Thursday evening.

Capen was riding his motorcycle through the junction when a car failed to see him. The car reportedly paused at the stop sign and then proceeded to go through the intersection where Capen simultaneously entered the intersection, reported Police officials. The driver of the vehicle was Michael Keenan, 61. Keenan claimed to have not seen the Police motorcyclist before it crashed into the driver’s side of his car injuring him severely.

According to a press release from the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation showed that the driver of the car, 61-year-old Michael O. Keenan, of Peru, entered the intersection after stopping at a stop sign. Police said Keenan told them he did not see Capen’s motorcycle. Capen was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital.

Paramedics transported Keenan to the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital Medical Center where he is being treated for his critical injuries.
