Vermont SUV rollover news – SUV rollover crash in Vermont kills toddler,  injured mother and young child on expressway in Vermont.

North Ferrisurg,VT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – a Vermont family was traveling to Indiana when the driver over corrected and rolled the SUV, killing an infant and injuring the other passengers in the vehicle, as announced The Buffalo News.

The father of the family identified as 20 –year-old Levi Dykema, is said to have fallen asleep while driving as the SUV, swerved off the expressway and rolled multiple times. The family was traveling through the night en route to Indiana in their sport utility vehicle, identified as a 2002 GMC Envoy, when it rolled off the expressway in Brant, Vermont, reported police authorities.

Police troopers reported that the Levi attempted to correct his driving after he was woke up, which caused the vehicle to swerve over the right then left lanes where he lost total control forcing the SUV to roll into the right shoulder of the highway.

Crystal Dykema, wife and mother, was injured in the roll over crash and transported via emergency vehicle to Lakeshore Hospital, then relocated to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for her injuries. The Dykema’s two children were a 2-year-old girl and a 2 month-old boy. The 2-month-old boy was killed in the crash even though he was buckled up in his car seat.

The 2-year-old girl was taken to Lakeshore Hospital where she was tended to by nurses and doctors for her minor wounds. The father suffered no injuries from the accident.
