Lawrence, Massachusetts (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — A 2-car accident occurred when a local Lawrence woman side-swiped police squad car at an intersection, announced the Eagle Tribune.  The local reportedly paused at the stop sign and then continued to drive through the intersection when the Police Detective, Officer Carmen Pupora, was hit by a 2002 Chevy Cavalier at Commonwealth Avenue and Marston Street, stated Authorities.  The driver of the Cavalier was identified as 83-year-old Gloria Consoli.

Police Detective Carmen Pupora was transported to Lawrence General Hospital via Emergency Medical Services (EMS), for injuries suffered due to the crash. Officials reported that the Chevy had smashed in the driver’s side of the squad car, throwing the damaged police vehicle into a fire hydrant.

The impact of the crash caused Consoli to swerve out of control, however, neither Consoli nor her passenger 94 year-old Emil Mancini, were harmed. They were both transported to the hospital for necessary safety measures.

At the time of the collision, Officer Pupora was on duty patrolling the neighborhood without her police lights or sirens.  The car accident is still being investigated to acquire all the evidence involved.  Officials reported that Gloria Consoli will possibly receive a citation for neglecting to stop for an approaching automobile.
