South Carolina accident attorney’s alert- A fatal crash involving a Cadillac sends three to MCGHealth for treatment.

North Augusta, S.C.—A wrong way driver on U.S. 1 left two people dead and three others seriously injured. The fatal multi-vehicle collision occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 9:17 a.m., as reported by NBC Augusta.

The driver of a blue Cadillac, Anthony Williams, 58, was speeding northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 1, when he drove his car into oncoming traffic. A passenger traveling in the Cadillac reportedly jumped out of the moving car about a quarter of a mile before the vehicle slammed head on into a pickup truck. The Cadillac then hit a minivan after colliding with the truck. According to North Augusta Pubic Safety officials, the driver of the truck escaped the accident without any injuries. The two occupants of the mini van were transported by emergency medical service (EMS) crews to the MCGHealth for treatment of their serious injuries sustained in the crash. Another passenger inside the minivan, Erma Harron, 76, of Richmond Hill died in the collision. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragic collision. The woman who jumped out of the speeding Cadillac was also transported by EMS crews to MCGHealth where she is listed in critical condition. Officials with the North Augusta Public Safety department are awaiting the toxicology reports from the Coroners Office to proceed with their accident investigation.
