Car collision in Copiague kills 3

Sunday afternoon, a blue 2009 Mitsubishi collided with a 1999 Ford Windstar on Montauk Highway and Miramar Boulevard. The driver of the Mitsubishi, Damian Dudkiewicz, 25, lost control of his vehicle and veered into the westbound lanes of traffic. The driver of the Ford Windstar, Rosanna Attaguile, 50, was traveling westbound and crashed into Dudkiewicz’s Mitsubishi, as reported by the New York Times.
Dudkiewicz was carrying 3 passengers in his vehicle. Two were declared dead on the scene by medical personnel, and their identities remain undisclosed until the families are notified. The only surviving passenger, along with Dudkiewicz, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. The passenger is being taken care of by doctors and nurses and is presently being treated in critical care. Dudkiewicz only suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
The passengers in the van were identified as Attaguile’s parents– Teresa Zuardo, 69, and Guisseppe Zuardo, 77. Teresa Zuardo was confirmed dead on the scene. Attaguile and her father Guisseppe survived the collision; however they suffered and were treated for minor injuries. The highway was closed for hours as the crew cleaned up the wreckage of the two vehicles. Police Detectives are currently working to investigate this accident.
