New Jersey drunk driver victimizes 7 innocent bystanders

West New York, New Jersey (NewYorkInjuryNews.com)–At the scene of the accident, on 57th and Berginline Avenue, was unusually busy due to a Sunday afternoon sidewalk sale where shoppers and passersby were scared for their lives.  The ages of the victims of the drunk driver ranged from ages 13 to 65 years old. One of the victims, a 44-year-old man, needed hospitalization for broken bones– fractured hips and legs– from being pinned underneath the SUV vehicle.  The New Jersey Police stated that the person responsible for injuring the 7 people was identified as a 43-year-old man North Bergen man, as stated by the Associated Press.

Driving under the influence touches the lives of Americans on a daily basis.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with the most recent statistics, states that in 2006 there were 17,941 deaths directly correlated to driving under the influence making up 40 percent of the total amount of traffic related fatalities. Driving under the influence is also one of the most avoidable causes of injury and death.  There are solutions to be pursued for those victims or loved ones who have been affected by these tragic circumstances so that justice will be served.
