FDA recalls non-acetone nail polish remover product-possible burn risk

Personal Care Products nail polish remover recalled for consumer burn hazard.

New York, NY(NewYorkInjuryNews.com)–The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) www.fda.gov in cooperation with Personal Care Products of Bingham Farms, Michigan, issued a product recall alert on Wednesday. Personal Care non-acetone nail polish remover, conditioner enriched with gelatin, does not meet product specifications and may cause chemical burns to fingers of the consumers who use the defective product.

The nail polish remover product was sold nationwide in small discount retail stores including New York. Personal Care, a nail polish remover maker has received two complaints from injured consumers who suffered burns on their fingers from the defective product. New York retailers are instructed to remove the product from their consumer shelves immediately. Injured consumers or product purchasers can contact Personal Care Products at 1-248-258-1555.
