New Jersey man shot and killed

Trenton, New Jersey (New York Injury News) — Police reported that a 30-year old man from Newark, New Jersey was shot and killed on the night of Wednesday, June 18 in the central business area of the city. The spokesperson for the office of Essex County Prosecutor, Paul Loriquet, reported that the man has been identified as Marquis Green whose body was located at the crossroads of Bank Street and Washington Street at around 9:40 pm with multiple gunshot wounds. One of the law enforcement officials said that the man was shot in head and chest.

Marquis Green was declared dead on the scene a couple of blocks away from the Rutgers Newark campus. Officials have not yet released information about the circumstances regarding the shooting and if they are successful in finding any suspects. However, it has been revealed through sources that Green used to work in the Courthouse of Essex County in the Superior Court. Some people are suspecting that the motive was due to financial reasons while some think it may be personal. He was the only son of his mother, was married and had 3 children.

The depressing part about the news is that the building has been located where the governor’s office, DYFS office and the county courts are situated. Rutger and county courts complex are only 2 blocks away and the Essex County College is only at a distance of one block. It is a city which has police of Essex county, police of Newark, police of Essex county college, police of Newark Housing, Rutgers police, NJIT police, New Jersey Transit police, DHS police, postal police, police of University Hospital, FBI, Secret service, Ed Police of Newark Board, US Marshall service and at least 20 security agencies, and all are operational within a radius of 6 blocks from this shooting incident.
