Dodge Viper flips over on New Jersey’s Route 78 highway

Union County, New Jersey (NewYorkInjuryNew.com) — New Jersey Police reported that an anonymous man was hospitalized on the night of Sunday, June 15, 2008 with some serious injuries as his car flipped over on the Eastbound Route 78 in Union County. The State Police said that the 2-door Dodge Viper flipped over in Berkeley Heights at around 4 pm. They are investigating the reason of the accident until late in the evening. The police also said that the accident had caused stalled traffic for several miles in the eastbound roadway.

The police reported that the injured person, whose identification was not released immediately, was sent to the Overlook Hospital of Summit for proper treatment, although his passenger, also unnamed, was unharmed. One of the eye-witnesses of the accident, Charles Mann from Lawton, Oregon, a truck driver, said that they were driving in the centre lane and all was appearing normal and after a few moments, a huge debris came off from the car and it hit a wall on the road side. Mann reported that the car got flipped over many times before it came to rest among the weeds of the road side.

One more eye-witness of the accident said that he cannot believe that someone survived in the accident because it was too terrific a scene. He also reported that the viper was driving in a fast speed and the accident seemed to be a result of high-speed impact only. One man who has been driving on the Route 78 for more than 14 years says that every day, he hears about an accident on the road whether through a truck, car or an SUV especially because they drive too fast on the highway.

After remaining unharmed in the accident, an unknown woman was seen crying and praying for the life of her boyfriend who was still inside the vehicle.
