Michael Block -
Michael Block graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1967, and has been a Member of the Firm since 1979. Throughout his career, Michael has been a major influence on the expansion of firefighter’s rights under the law, and has worked diligently to protect victims of fire related accidents. For decades Michael has represented the New York City Uniform Firefighter’s Association. It was Michael who played a significant role in having Congress pass the Victims’ Compensation Fund after the tragedy of 9/11, and then, in an unprecedented act of public service, recovered over $260 million for 362 injured firefighters and the families of those killed in the attacks without taking a fee. Michael is also regarded for his charitable contributions to fire injury and other causes, working with organizations such as the National Institute for People with Disabilities. Visit Web profile
