Ohio personal injury attorney alerts- A fatal crash took one life and left eight others with injuries; OSHP officials investigate.

Clark County, OH (News)—A motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred at the junction of State Route 41 and State Route 235 on Saturday, February 27, 2010, killing one person and injuring eight others. Six of the eight victims that suffered injuries in the two-vehicle crash were reported to be children, according to information provided by TimesBulletin.com.

Reports state 39-year-old Christopher A. Heckert was driving his vehicle north on SR 235 when he failed to yield to a red traffic light. At the same time, 30-year-old Heather R. Littrell was traveling east on SR 41. Heckert allegedly drove past the red light, subsequently hitting the front-right portion of Littrell’s van. On impact, the van careened off of SR 41 and flipped over. There were eight people riding in the van when it overturned and landed on the passenger side.

Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly responded to the scene of the motor vehicle accident to transport those injured in the wreck to area hospitals to be treated by doctors and nurses. Unfortunately, Heckert, who was initially airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital by a Miami Valley Care-Flight helicopter, suffered life-threatening injuries, which proved fatal shortly after the incident. Littrell was taken to Children’s Hospital and then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital where she was treated and released. An adult passenger riding in the van at the time, 26-year-old Ashley R. Roussel was reportedly taken to Miami Valley Hospital via New Castle Medic Squad personnel. Responding Elizabeth Township Medic Squad, New Carlisle Medic Squad, and Christiansburg Medic Squad crews transported six children, whose ages ranged from 7 to 13, to Children’s Hospital to be treated by responding medical professionals. Accident investigations by Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) authorities are reported underway.
