NY motor vehicle accident report: Morristown 2-car crash injured 1

Legal news for New York motor vehicle accident attorneys – A two-vehicle crash occurred when traffic tried to make way for a fire engine in Morristown.

Morristown, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – New York State police reported a two-vehicle crash occurred when one driver attempted to avoid a crash with a responding fire truck, Tuesday morning, February 2, 2010, according to The Gouvenuer Times.

Police reported to the scene at State Road 37 and Chapman Street in Morristown around 9:30 a.m. Investigators state that the Morristown fire engine was coming up ST 37 with its lights flashing and siren blaring on the way to a call when one driver, identified as Laurie Regan, resident of Watertown, attempted to get out of the engines way and turned into the right shoulder of the road. Another driver, identified as Andrew Johnson, resident of Ogdensburg, was unaware of the fire engine and swerved out of the way and struck Regan’s vehicle.

Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the crash and arrived on the scene to treat and transport the injured. Regan was transported via ambulance to Claxton Hepburn Hospital where doctors treated his injuries. He was released shortly after treatment. His injuries were not specified. It was not reported if Laurie was injured in the motor vehicle accident or if she was taken to the hospital for examination. It was not reported if the intersection was closed for cleanup of the accident. The investigation continues.
