Ohio personal injury lawyer alerts- Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates two-vehicle crash that left one dead, one injured.

Hebron, OH—The injuries of a man involved in a two-vehicle crash on Monday, January 25, 2010, proved fatal two days after the incident while he was being cared for at the hospital. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Ohio State Route 79, according to reports by NewarkAdvocate.com.

Hebron Police Department officials allegedly reported that a deputy pulled over a truck, driven by 51-year-old Randy Ratliff, after noticing that he did not have functioning tail lights. Upon pulling stopping the truck, Ratliff and two other passengers reportedly got out of the vehicle and distracted the officers before Ratliff suddenly got back into the truck and sped away. Almost instantly after doing so, Ratliff struck a minivan, driven by 48-year-old Jeff Robinson.

Hebron Fire Department personnel responded to the scene to transport severely injured Robinson to Licking Memorial Hospital to then be transferred via emergency medical helicopter Ohio State University Medical Center. Weather conditions hindered the helicopters authorization to fly so he was taken by ambulance to Grant Medical Center. He was allegedly pronounced dead on Wednesday. Ratliff was reportedly being treated at Ohio State University Medical Center where hospital officials listed him in fair condition on Monday. Toxicology reports may reportedly take up to four weeks. Charges are pending the outcome of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s accident investigation.
