Missouri personal injury lawyer alerts- Missouri State Highway Patrol investigates crash that left three dead, four injured.

Sarcoxie, MO—A two-vehicle crash tragically killed three people and seriously injured four others on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) allegedly occurred one mile away from Sarcoxie, Missouri, according to information provided by News-Leader.com.

A 1989 Pontiac, being driven by 47-year-old Stony D. Patrick, was reported driving north on Missouri Route 37 when the incident occurred. The motorist allegedly veered across the centerline into oncoming traffic. The Pontiac subsequently struck a 1993 Mercury, being driven by 39-year-old David Smith, head on in the southbound lane. The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) allegedly stated that the violent collision occurred at 3:40 p.m.

Emergency medical services (EMS) crews responded to the scene to transport those injured in the crash to area hospitals to be treated by responding doctors and nurses. Unfortunately, the injures of motorist David Smith, as well as those of 49-year-old Sharon R. Smith and 8-year-old Zachary Smith, proved fatal after the wreck. Pontiac driver, Stony D. Patrick, as well as 13-year-old Jonathan Smith, 14-year-old Christian Smith, and 21-year-old Shawna Jackson, all sustained serious injuries in the crash. All except Jackson were transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, for treatment. Jackson was reportedly airlifted via medical helicopter to John’s Hospital in Joplin. Crash investigations conducted by the MSHP are underway.
