Six people sustained car crash injuries in a St. Johns County, Florida collision.
St. Johns County, FL—Six people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious in a motor vehicle collision (MVC) on Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2010, according to reports from Jacksonville.com. The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) allegedly reported that Robyn Barra, 29, was traveling southbound on U.S. 1 in a 1999 Toyota when she tried to turn east on Ocean Boulevard, subsequently striking another vehicle, which she was allegedly supposed to yield the right of way. The northbound 1997 Volkswagen, driven by Istvan Juhasz, 54, was traveling on U.S. 1 as well.
Barra allegedly suffered minor injuries and was reported to be the only person in the Toyota. There were four passengers allegedly occupying the Volkswagen at the time of the collision. The passengers in the Volkswagen, 39-year-old Beata Juhasz, 81-year-old Sofia Talavera, 5-year-old Marcella Talavera, and 9-month-old Istvanne Juhasz, reportedly sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious in the motor vehicle accident near St. Augustine. The Volkswagen driver’s condition was not reported. According to News4Jax.com, three people involved in the car crash were transported by responding emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to hospitals for the treatment of their injuries. A man was allegedly airlifted via medical helicopter to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, while two others were taken to Flagler Hospital for treatment by doctors and nurses. Barra was allegedly cited for failing to yield the right of way.
