Todson Inc recalls bicycle tire inflators

Legal news for Massachusetts Product Liability attorneys–Bicycle tire inflators recalled, due to threat of injury, by Todson Inc. and the CPSC, which were sold at Walmart.

Boston, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov, in cooperation with Todson Inc, of North Attleboro, Ma., announced the voluntary recall of CO2 bicycle inflators on December 17, 2009. Consumers are advised not use the defective products unless otherwise informed.

There have been about 24,000 sold nationwide since August 2009 through November 2009 for the price of $15. Walmart was the exclusive retail store that sold the bicycle pumps. The reported consumer hazard that occurs the use of this product is that the pressurized cartridge, which contains carbon dioxide, can separate from the pump head, and injure the consumer. There have not been any injuries or incidents reported to the company or the CPSC as of yet.

A description of the recalled product is a metal cartridge is woven into the pump head. The “Zefal EZ +CO2 inflator” can be found in print on the front of the packaging. The UPC number is 798661556020 and can be found in print on the back with the model number 5602. The defective product was created in Taiwan.
