Product Liability Alert: “Bobby Chupete” Pacifiers recalled due to choking hazard

Legal news for New York Product Liability attorneys—CPSC announced a recall of defective pacifiers for infants and toddlers due to failing government safety requirements.

New York, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – The government agency the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov, in cooperation with Grand World Inc., announced the recall of the “Bobby Chupete” Pacifiers due to potential choking hazard on November 18, 2009.

Parents, caregivers, and other consumers are advised to discontinue use immediately unless otherwise instructed. The company reported that 641,000 units of the recalled product “Bobby Chupete” Pacifiers have been sold nationwide. The importer of the China manufactured pacifiers is Grand World Inc. located in Maspeth, New York.

The CPSC and Grand World voluntarily recalled the pacifiers due to failure to meet government safety requirements. The pacifier mouth guard is too small, which poses a choking hazard for small infants and toddlers. There have not been any injuries reported as of yet, due to the defective product.

The “Bobby Chupete” Pacifiers are described as having a ring-shaped handle and heart-shaped mouth guard with two ventilation holes with a latex nipple. The “Bobby Chupete” packaging is a picture of a baby printed. The pacifier was sold in aqua, red, white and yellow colors sold across the nation. This product was sold between November 2004 and July 2009 for the price of $1.

All consumers are advised to immediately take the recalled pacifiers away from small children and contact Grand World for a refund or a replacement pacifier at (718) 326-7786 or visit the firm’s Web site at www.grandworldinc.com.
