Lakewood, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Three children were injured when a school bus crashed into a minivan that had reportedly ran a stop sign, announced the Asbury Park Press.

Wednesday morning, three children and one woman sustained minor injuries when traveling in a Yury school bus heading to a private school when it hit a minivan. Police reported that the van had run a stop sign. The three injured children were boys ages 7, 10, and 14 years-old.

Police officials reported that the collision occurred at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 2nd Avenue around 9 a.m.
The bus was traveling east on Second Avenue and the minivan was going north on Lexington Avenue, police said.

Officials identified the driver of the van as 19-year-old Yocheved Shore, who sustained minor injuries in the crash. The school bus had broadsided the driver’s side of the minivan after it ran the stop sign.

Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived on the scene. A Hatzolah ambulance transported the 14-year-old boy to the Medical Center to be treated for a minor head injury. The 7 and 10-year-old were taken to a pediatrician for treatment of their minor injuries.

The driver of the school bus, identified as 46-year-old Yury Kaykov, resident of Toms River, remained uninjured. Police issued a citation that summoned Shore to appear in court for her traffic violation of running a stop sign.
