Four injured 1 dead from Vermont truck crash!

Legal news for Vermont Personal Injury attorneys- A pickup truck crashed into the Snack Shack and caused injury to 6 people in Williston, Vermont.

Williston, VT (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Fire rescue workers and emergency medical services (EMS) reported to the scene of a Vermont eatery known as “Tim’s Snack Shack” after a truck crashed into the picnic area injuring 6 people last Thursday afternoon, announced Williston Observer.

Rescue crews including 10 firefighters and police officials arrived at the scene to discover the fatal accident where people at the demolished picnic area where the out of control pickup truck had barreled through and injured pedestrians at the Snack Shack, which is located at the junction of U.S. 2 and Industrial Avenue. One of the victims was pronounced dead Tuesday at the hospital.

A Ford F-150 had skipped the curb and continued to barrel through the picnic area, crashed into a parked vehicle after clipping the eatery building and pushed it back 4 feet. The owner of the Snack Shack, Tim Leggett, saw the truck coming at his customers and tried to tell everyone to get out of the way. The truck finally came to a halt in the back of the building.

Two of the victims, who were customers of the Shack, were identified as 52-year-old Brain Marcelino, resident of Colchester and 68-year-old Barbara Gregory, resident of Shelburne, suffered severe injuries in the crash. They were both transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.

Barbara Gregory was pronounced dead due to her fatal injuries last Tuesday. One of the Snack Shack workers, Jason Goddard, was injured when he to escape the truck’s path of destruction. Leggett injured his ankle trying to get out of the way and refused to go to the hospital.

Police identified the driver of the pickup truck to be Timothy Hall. He claimed to have been hit with a shovel while working at a construction site earlier that morning and took the afternoon off due to feeling ill.

Hill said that he felt dizzy and attempted to pull off the road, but he claimed that he doesn’t remember anything beyond that, he told police. Hill claims to not remember the crash. Witnesses reaffirmed Hill’s story, saying that it appeared that the driver seemed knocked out. Hill was examined at the hospital and released.

Tim’s Snack Shack will be closed for the rest of the season due to the damages, replied Leggett. Police investigators are looking into the accident and would not comment as to whether Hill will be charged for the accident.
