RI firefighters injured in apartment blaze

Legal news for Rhode Island work-related Firefighter attorneys- Firefighters injured in Providence, RI apartment fire were treated by doctor and nurses at Rhode Island Hospital.

Providence, RI (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A neighborhood apartment fire injured three firefighters who had to be treated at the Rhode Island Hospital for their injuries, announced Providence Journal.

The fire that blazed in the three story apartment caused wide spread damage to the building Tuesday night. The three firefighters were treated by doctors and nurses at the Rhode Island Hospital, reported the Fire Chief.

An apartment tenant who lived on the second floor had fled the building when he became aware of the fire and suffered from chest pains. He was treated by medical personnel at the scene. The first floor apartments were not being rented due to renovations. Two children and four adults, who lived above the first floor, were relocated and given resources by the Red Cross.

The Fire Chief reported that one of the injured firefighters was taken to the Rhode Island Hospital for injuring his back. The other two firefighters were treated by doctors and nurses for inhaling too much smoke into their lungs.

The blaze began 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on the second floor. The Fire Chief reported that the blaze had started in a closed room where the room was furnished with a baby crib. The second level of the apartment was heavily damaged. Smoke had stained the rest of the building.

The reason for the start of the blaze is not yet known. Investigators are looking into this fire as a possible tie to two other local fires that had been started recently.
