Plane Crashes en route to New York, injured 6!

Legal news for New York Aviation Accident Lawyers—Cessna 208 Caravan airplane en route to Saratoga Springs, NY ended in a fiery crash due to engine trouble mid air.

Sheffield, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A North American Flight Services Inc., plane crashed close to Connecticut en route for New York injuring the pilot and 5 passengers, announced the Berkshire Eagle.

The plane crashed Tuesday afternoon in a field close to the border of Connecticut. The 6 people on board the single-engine turbo prop airplane walked out before it broke out in fire. Nearby residencies were made to vacate the surrounding areas due to the fiery crash. The plane, identified as a Cessna 208 Caravan, registered with North American Flight Services, took off from Farmington, NY and was heading to Saratoga, NY when it crash landed.

The names of the passengers and the pilot have not been released as of yet. A Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) www.faa.gov/ representative stated that the cause of the accident is not yet known and remains under investigation. They stated that the plane was registered with the North American Flight Service Inc.

The airplane was apparently redirected from its set path to the Walter Koladza Airport located in Great Barrington, when the pilot announced that he was having difficulties in mid-air, stated the president of Berkshire Aviation Enterprises, Richard Solan. The jet crash landed four miles away from the airport.

The crash destroyed the aircraft ripping off a wing in the landing and then burst into flames. It was reported that the aircraft just missed crashing into residents home. HAZMAT www.phmsa.dot.gov/hazmat workers responded to the scene to manage the leftovers of the aircraft. The surrounding areas were temporarily shut down due to the crash.
