New York big rig flips - spills chlorine chemicals on highway!

Legal news for New York Truck Accident Lawyers—Tractor trailer flipped on winding highway and spilled chlorine chemicals injuring the driver in New York.

Plainfield, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Potentially hazardous materials spilled out of a tractor trailer on Route 51 after the big rig tipped over and injured the driver on Wednesday afternoon, announced WKTV.

Fire Rescue workers and Emergency medical services (EMS) responded to the scene of the accident. Hazardous materials crew (HAZMATS) www.phmsa.dot.gov/hazmat from both Utica and Otsego County’s also arrived at the scene.

The specialized government crew quickly identified the potentially dangerous materials as chlorine chemicals as well as other different kinds of chemicals that were being transported on board the truck. It was unclear about what the other materials were. HAZMAT officials are still investigating to evaluate the chemicals before any potential information is confirmed.

The big rig was traveling from the state of Connecticut according to his license plates on Route 51 in New York. The road is a winding highway, which has been taken into consideration in the truck driver’s loss of control and rollover of the semi.

The Hazmat crew from Utica County commented on the situation and said that it was under control. Paramedics transported the injured Trucker via ambulance to the Bridgewater hospital to be treated for his injuries. Police did not release the name of the truck driver.
