Delaware state police alert Delaware attorneys- Toddler goes missing from Little Scholars Day Care.

Townsend, DE—A 3-year-old boy escaped a Newark day care facility and was found wandering along Del. 896, a busy four-lane highway in Glasgow. The toddler was found at 10: 30 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2009, as reported by Delawareonline.com.

According to Delaware state police, Marvin Brittingham, 3, was spotted by six motorists wandering in his read shirt and red-and-blue shorts along Del. 896. A passing motorist stopped to help the boy, who was unhurt, and called the police. Marvin’s parents reportedly dropped the toddler off at Little Scholars Day Care, nearly an eight of a mile away from where the boy was found. According to WPVI, when police officials returned the boy to the day care and asked if they were missing any children, they said they weren’t. When the day care providers realized Marvin had indeed gone missing, they claimed he was only missing for 5 minutes. According to the concerned motorist who stopped to help the boy, it took 20 minutes alone for police officials to arrive. It is unknown how the boy wandered away from Little Scholars in the first place. Police officials stated they trying to determine if any charges will be filed against the day care, or if the caregivers failed to follow administrative procedures, which can affect the center’s licensing.
