Woman tasered by New York deputy sues NY Sheriff’s Department
New York Personal Injury Lawyers report a Syracuse mother sued Onondaga Police Department after she was mistreated and injured in front of her children.
Syracuse, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A woman was reportedly pulled over and tasered by an Onondaga County police officer, according to Newsday.
The woman, who was driving her minivan with her two children in the vehicle, was told to stay in the car after she got out and then was told to get back out of the car when the police man, identified as Sean Andrews, tasered her twice when she fell to the ground.The police officer has been suspended by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department where he will not be paid during the 30 days and he is required to meet with police management as a part of his reprimanding process.
The video camera set on the squad car’s dashboard shows officer Andrews walking toward the woman, taser in hand, roughly pulled her out of her vehicle in front of her children, and tasered her twice, until she feel onto the pavement from the electrical shock.
The woman identified as Audra Harmon was originally charged with failing to comply when arrested, not cooperating and speeding 5 miles over the speed limit. The charges against Audra Harmon have since been dropped. The Syracuse mother filed a lawsuit against the Onondaga Sheriff’s Department.
